Presented in 1080p/AVC, spread across a BD50 disc, Potter 7.2 looks rather extraordinary. Thankfully, this is one of the better looking titles. Some titles look absolutely terrific, while others have paled in comparison. Harry Potter has had a bit of a spotty history on Blu-ray.

Honestly, the 3D for this one was pretty weak, so I'd only go that route if you're really craving something fresh for your 3DTV. And there's also a Best Buy exclusive release of Potter 7.2, which includes the two Blu-ray discs, a DVD, an Ultraviolet copy of the film, and a 3D Blu-ray. There's a single-disc movie-only option (which also comes with an Ultraviolet Digital Copy of the film), a three-disc special edition with two Blu-ray discs, a DVD and an Ultraviolet copy of the film (this is the version we are reviewing here). Harry Potter 7.2 arrives on Blu-ray with a slew of purchase options. Truth be told, while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 might be missing quite a bit of Rowling's final act, what is here is truly unforgettable. And, if one understands the symbolism of the final coda, the train station scene will prove to be one of the series' greatest dramatic moments. You're likely to cheer during the film's exciting twists and turns. Any fan of this franchise is bound to shed a tear or two over the film's more poignant deaths. (Perhaps a franchise of miniseries movies would best suit the series.) But Deathly Hallows Part 2 does its best to deliver one of the most satisfying conclusions in the history of cinema. Rowling did a fine job wrapping it all up, but admittedly, her resolution was probably unfilmable. Too many revelations, too many unfortunate deaths, too many characters with loose ends to tie. Rather, it's more a flaw of Rowling's story – simply too much is crammed into the final 300 pages of Deathly Hallows, forcing an ending that's both brilliant, and a bit rushed all at the same time. Choosing one set of characters and sticking with them is only logical. This isn't a flaw of the film, the director or the production as a whole. Great character moments, crowd-cheering action set pieces, several genuinely tragic deaths and a few twists and turns are brushed aside or ignored altogether so that this final installment can keep its focus dead-set on Potter, Ron and Hermione.

But despite being broken into two parts, both Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 feel rather trimmed and rushed.

Potter 7.2 is a brilliant movie – one of the summer's very best – with more than its fair share of awesome moments. But, despite a dazzling ending, more than a handful of truly tear-jerking moments, and a fitting farewell to the world of Potter, I couldn't help but be disappointed by what went missing in this final tale.
